Delish & Nutrish owner Nina Tafarella’s interest in healthy eating started when she was 12 years old and decided to become a vegetarian. An ardent animal lover, Nina was raised on a small ranch that raised its own livestock for meat. Her decision to become a vegetarian was initially humanitarian.
In 2006 Nina started working with Sunshine Wellness Meal Delivery. In her four-year tenure with Sunshine, Nina helped build the meal delivery service and in turn unleashed her passion for nutrition. As she worked with clients to establish healthy eating programs Nina witnessed improvements in their moods, energy levels, and complexion (as well as her own). In addition clients reported significant drops in bad cholesterol and blood pressure. Clients lost weight and experienced overall health improvements. These results fueled Nina’s interest in learning more about nutrition and, more specifically, helping others learn about how changes in diet can radically improve health.
In 2010 when the owner of Sunshine Wellness relocated, Nina was given the opportunity to buy the business and Delish & Nutrish was born. Nina loves seeing the progress of clients as they learn about healthy eating. This is what drives her to create new recipes that are “delicious and nutritious”. Still a vegetarian, Nina realizes how difficult it can be to find appetizing meals that are balanced correctly. Delish & Nutrish menus accommodate vegetarians, vegans, healthy meat eaters, and people with food allergies or intolerances. Nina lives in Santa Barbara with her two children Zola and Enzo. She derives joy and pleasure from helping people on their journey to losing weight and living a healthy, happy lifestyle, and welcomes the opportunity to help you with yours.
